Commonwealth Candle Bar
WHAT IS THE CANDLE BAR?
Come pour your own candle with us! This isn't a candle making workshop. This is a candle making experience. You will choose your own vessel, choose your own scent blend, and pour a candle that is uniquely yours.
THE PROCESS
You'll start by smelling through our selection of scents. You'll select the ones you want to mix together for your custom candle. Then you'll choose which vessel you'd like to make your own.
Once you have everything selected, it's time to mix your own unique scent blend and pour your candle!
The entire process takes 30-45 minutes. This is perfect for date night, family day, girls night, corporate team building, bridal showers, baby showers, etc. Kids 10 and older are welcome at the candle bar accompanied by an adult.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I POUR MY CANDLE?
Your candle will need 60-90 minutes to harden enough to take with you. While you're waiting for your candle to cure, you are welcome to shop with the other businesses and artists around Mellwood, visit Danny Mac's for a bite to eat, or visit Butchertown Brewing for a drink.
You are also welcome to pick up your candle later on or we can ship it to you for a $4 fee.
We ask that you arrive at least 2 hours prior to closing if you plan on taking your candle with you the same day.
ARE RESERVATIONS NEEDED?
No, reservations are not required. You are welcome to walk in and pour a candle.
If you have a group larger than 8 people, please contact us for a reservation.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
The price to pour your own candle depends on the style of jar you choose to pour in. Jar choices change periodically. We typically have 7-10 jars for you to choose from. Prices start at $25 and go up from there.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We are located at 1860 Mellwood Ave, Louisville, KY 40206 inside the Mellwood Art Center. We are located in Studio #155. Once you arrive at the MAC, enter the building on the left past the Lion mural. Go straight down the hallway. Once you reach the end of the hallway, take a right, then take your first left. Studio 155 is past the restrooms on the left. There are maps located throughout the MAC for reference.
DO YOU DO PRIVATE POURING PARTIES?
Yes we do! Please contact us to schedule a day and time. We prefer to schedule private events outside of our normal business hours, however, we are flexible and here to accommodate you!
Private Pouring Parties require a minimum of 8 people.
Private Pouring Parties are perfect for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, group outings, baby showers, corporate team building, friend get togethers, etc. We would love to have you!
